On Sunday, November 16, a pleasant surprise awaited those who gathered in the “Artsakh” hall for the now-established “Sunday coffee” after the Divine Liturgy.
On the initiative of the Parish Committee of the Church, the administration and teaching staff of the one-day Armenian school “Malakian–Kasparian” of the Armenian Relief Society were honoured for their invaluable contribution to the new generation.
Present at the gathering were the parish priest, Archimandrite Rev. Yegia Malhasian, members of the Parish Council, representatives of the Regional and local boards of the Armenian Relief Society under whose auspices the school operates, representatives of other associations, and many members of the community.
In her opening speech, the Secretary of the Parish Committee, Mrs. Margrit Kostikian, referred to the historical course of the school, which began in the 1950s, and emphasized the great importance of attending the Armenian school, where students not only learn reading and writing but also become familiar with the culture, history, and values of their distant homeland.
The program continued with the presentation of a brief biography of each teacher, and at the end commemorative gifts were distributed.
The event concluded with the speech of the Archimandrite, who praised the excellent initiative and the impeccable organization of the event, stressing the need for everyone’s participation in community activities.
